AI Strategy Consultant

Strategy Remote (US / Canada) Full-time $150k to $190k + equity + profit share

About the role

Our strategy work has one job: lead to something that ships and pays back. As an AI Strategy Consultant, you'll run the paid diagnostics and use-case discovery that open every engagement, then hand off a prioritized pilot to an engineering and marketing team sitting right next to you.

This is operator-led strategy. You'll model ROI, pressure-test ideas, and have the credibility to tell a client when a use case isn't worth building, and what to ship instead.

What you'll do

  • Run paid AI-readiness diagnostics and use-case discovery workshops with client leadership.
  • Build ROI models and prioritization frameworks that turn ambition into a 30-day pilot.
  • Shape AI roadmaps that connect directly to revenue and to the systems our engineers will build.
  • Advise on AI governance and responsible-AI guardrails clients can show to risk and compliance teams.
  • Stay close through delivery so strategy and execution never drift apart.

What we're looking for

Must-haves

  • 5+ years in strategy, consulting, or operating roles with real AI/data exposure.
  • Strong commercial and ROI-modeling instincts, because you think in revenue, not slideware.
  • Excellent executive communication and workshop facilitation.
  • The judgment and spine to recommend not building something when that's the right call.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AI governance, responsible-AI, or regulated industries.
  • Background that spans both strategy and hands-on delivery.
  • Familiarity with the modern AI stack and where it creates real leverage.

Our stack

Claude Code, Linear, Slack, and a modeling toolkit (spreadsheets, notebooks, and BI on top of Snowflake/BigQuery), plus close collaboration with the engineering and marketing teams who execute what you scope.

Process

  1. Intro call with the Strategy Practice Lead (30 min).
  2. A paid, scoped exercise: a mini-diagnostic and prioritization for a sample scenario.
  3. A working session presenting your diagnostic and walking through past client work.
  4. Final conversation with the General Manager on fit and compensation.
